When I started writing a weekly column for Long Ridge, I wondered if it would take away from my writing time. Instead, writing up market opportunities for other writers has increased my output. When I take a second look at them, I'm discovering that markets I thought were not a fit for me actually peak my interest to try something new.

I guess it's that old adage - what you give comes back to you.

More time for writing

I got a robotic vacuum, a Roomba, for Christmas. It vacuums another room while I'm on the computer. I love it, and the dog doesn't seem to mind. After it bumped into her a few times, she learned that SHE has to get out of ITS way because it will not change course.

Great workshop and site for writers

At the NC Writers Conference last November, I attended Linda Rohrbough's workshop called Learn How to Talk to an Editor or Agent About Your Book. It was fabulous. If you are a writer and have the chance to attend one of her workshops, do it.
